Paul Laurence Dunbar - A Death Song - Paul Laurence Dunbar was an African American whose grammar and writing style was different from other poets. He is still remember today because he was the first African American to receive a national high ranking in poetry.

Jazz was also popular in the 1900s so poets wrote about jazz as well.
